My Story

Ramila Padiachy, founder and co-owner of Ramilas Healing Arts Clinic in Ottawa is internationally recognized as an accomplished healer, Doctorate of Natural Medicine, FDN-P, and public speaker.

Since the Clinic opened its doors in 1992, Ramila has been committed to helping others improve their health and live a better quality of life. She understands first-hand the frustration and difficulty caused by unidentified and so-called “untreatable” ailments. Her PERSONAL HEALTH STORY spans 15 years, when she suffered from several health problems including dermographism – a skin condition sometimes called skin writing, recurring cystitis and vaginitis, canker sores, hay fever, and a “foggy brain.”

Originally from South Africa, where she owned and managed two businesses with her husband – following a career in the food and chemical industries – she was faced with a career-changing decision when she immigrated to Canada. Ramila made the leap, following the voice that told her she “needed to work with and help people,” to pursue a career in complementary medicine.

For over 29 years, Ramila has been helping people across the globe rediscover their health and find relief by addressing the root causes of “untreatable” symptoms. She has traveled extensively throughout Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Africa educating people on the importance of proper nutrition and health, and lecturing on “Nutrition and Supplementation in the 21st Century.” Ramila has appeared several times on CTV Ottawa Live.

Ramila is a member of the American Naturopathic Medical Association, Board of Natural Medicine Doctors and Practitioners, and registered with Reseau des naturotherapeutes professionnels du Quebec.

Ramila also holds a Doctorate in Naturopathy from The University of Westbrook in New Mexico, USA, and is a Functional Diagnostic Nutritional Practitioner. A Certified Iridologist, Certified Reflexologist, and holistic allergist, in addition to her extensive specialized training in alternative medicine, Ramila has taken many courses in self-development with world-renowned leaders in the world and still continues to upgrade her education. She also studied Chemistry at the University of South Africa.

Public Notice:

Modern Naturopathic Medicine Vs. Traditional Natural Medicine.

‘Natural Medicine’ and ‘Natural Health Practitioner’ are generic terms which refer to all practitioners who do not engage in diagnosis, disease prognosis, disease treatment, prescribing drugs and surgery, or medical regulation and controlled acts. The basic premise of natural medicine/health is that ill health is nothing more than imbalance or disequilibrium in the human body. The expression of symptoms is the body’s attempt to

re-establish balance. Traditional Natural Medicine practitioners’ main emphasis is on guiding their clients to wellness. Naturopathic Medicine is one subset of the generic terms “Natural Medicine”. I am a traditional Natural Medicine Practitioner within the definition of the general generic term Natural Medicine or Natural Health.

Practitioners such as I that are using the designation “DNM” have attained a doctorate PhD (DNM Doctorate in Natural Medicine) level of education in natural medicine, and are not Naturopaths, Naturopathic Doctors or NDs.
